Welcome to Silver Connections!

In 2016, Silver Connections received the Ageless Hero Business of the Year Award. This award honors an individual and/or business that provides exemplary service, support and opportunities to those in Wake County, age 55+. We are very thankful for this honor as well as the other awards (please click here), recognition and support that we have received from the Triangle community for over a decade.
"I just wanted to drop a note and tell you how much I appreciated the chance to be part of Silver Connections. I’ve never had a more positive experience with social interaction and just plain fun than the great people I met there. There is nothing like it here and I really wish I could find it again. I cherish the friendships I formed in the group and the great time on group outings. Again, thanks for allowing me to be a small part of your adventure." - from a former Silver Connections member who moved out of state recently to be closer to his family.
SILVER CONNECTIONS is the Premier Socializing Group for those "55 and better!" in the Triangle area of North Carolina. We are a full time business and membership organization committed to providing unique events and travel for those single and active adults, age 55 and over!
Local activities, international and domestic trips, new friends, community, personal service, quality members, laughter and fun! Silver Connections completed it's tenth year of business in 2017!
Don't let the word "Silver" fool you! Our members are a group of active adults and the word "senior" does not apply. Age truly is just a number! We have members who range in age from 55-59, many members age 60-69 and also members who are very active in their 70s. Our membership is made up of many "boomers", both single men and women, looking to meet new friends, participate in events and enjoy an active social life!
Since we are not a matchmaking or dating service, there is never any pressure at our events. You never have to feel uncomfortable or that the goal is finding a date. That is not what we are about! We have had five couples meet and get married who met in the group and several who have dated, but that was over time and flourished outside of our events It is wonderful when love happens, but that is not the goal of our organization.
Silver Connections is also not a large, impersonal group, but a social community where members get to know each other at our events. We don't plan events where you walk in the door and no one greets you or you are just a number in a noisy room with many others. We are welcoming and inclusive!
Our members live in Raleigh, Wake Forest, Cary, Apex, Morrisvillle, Knightdale, Louisburg, Wendell, Holly Springs, Garner, Fuquay Varina, Clayton, Durham, Chapel Hill, Pittsboro and other areas throughout the Triangle.
Every detail of our professionally planned events are organized for you, so all you need to do is pick what events every month you would like to attend (and there are alot to choose from!) and ENJOY! You may choose to attend as many or as few as you would like. Our events are also planned with you in mind - location, cost, convenience and personal service are all top priorities.
There are many options available for the 20's and 30's crowd and the elderly adult, but what about the active age 55+ individual, who wants to meet others like themselves?
If you are widowed or divorced, how do you go about getting out and meeting others?
How do you find a group that offers security and protection while also offering numerous opportunities to meet others of the same age, socialize, make friends and have fun?
You may already have some great friends in the area, but they might be married and spend the majority of their weekends with their spouse.
Or, you may find yourself working all the time and need to get out more and have fun!
You may be adjusting to being single after being part of a couple for many years and want to meet others in similar circumstances.
Some of you may participate in area events, but would like to have them completely planned for you and enjoy them with others like yourself.
Or, you may have relocated to the area and want to make a life for yourself in your new home.
Silver Connections offers unique events every month orchestrated throughout the Triangle (*please scroll down to the bottom of this page to see examples of some of our past events!) including dining, museum visits, theater outings, movies, sporting events, exercise opportunities, private tours, happy hours, golf group, Supper Club, volunteering, food tours, seminars, appetizer parties, dancing, new member socials, wine tastings, home parties, member mingles....just to name a few! These activities provide a terrific opportunity to meet like-minded people in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.
Silver Connections members are also offered travel options (local, US and international) as a part of membership. (Please see our TRAVEL page here on the website).
Personal service is always a top priority! The owner offers a complimentary meeting over coffee to meet each potential member, offer a packet of information and answer any questions you may have. If you decide to join, you are not just a number coming through the door for your first event!
A wonderful benefit that Silver Connections also provides is that with so many events every month, you always have a choice! You can pick and choose what fits your finances, preferences and schedule. There is never a minimum or maximum number of events you must attend. Cost is always taken into account with many discounts arranged and passed on to members.
The owner or organizers of some other groups are planning events and organizing activities for themselves to be included as well as the members. They are in it for their own enjoyment and for their own socializing opportunities. That is fine, but this is also where Silver Connections is different. It is a business, so the Silver Connections owner is planning events, travel and socializing opportunities for YOU, not for her to benefit. The group's members are the focus and always at the forefront of what activities and travel they would enjoy!
Each individual has a unique background, but also circumstances in common with others to share. If you are “55 and better”, single, lived in the Triangle awhile or are new to the area, we welcome you to our website and invite you to learn more about what a membership to Silver Connections has to offer!
Enjoy attending unique events in the Triangle, wonderful travel opportunities and making new friends
.....come join the FUN!
